Position Overview We are seeking a Legal Executive Assistant to join our team. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone with substantial experience handling litigated matters who is comfortable taking significant responsibility for the day-to-day management of an active litigation caseload. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, able to anticipate what needs to be done, and comfortable working independently while coordinating closely with the attorney, clients, paralegals, experts, and other members of the litigation team. Qualifications Extensive legal assistant or litigation experience is required. Plaintiff personal injury experience is strongly preferred. Experience with civil litigation, discovery, deposition and trial preparation, calendaring, and drafting litigation documents is important. Strong computer skills and familiarity with modern legal practice-management and document-management systems are also expected. The position involves substantive responsibility and requires someone who is comfortable being deeply involved in cases from litigation through resolution or trial. Responsibilities Managing attorneys' calendars and litigation deadlines; Scheduling depositions, mediations, independent medica examinations, expert examinations and other litigation matters; Assisting with trial preparation; Managing discovery in litigated cases; Preparing and organizing discovery responses, document production, deposition exhibits, trial exhibits, and other litigation-related materials; Drafting correspondence, pleadings, discovery documents, mediation statements, and other litigation-related materials; Filing documents with the courts; Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, courts, experts, medical providers, and other professionals; Screening calls from potential clients; Performing all other duties as assigned.
